This May, ChessAP is embarking on a true international chess expedition to Italy, where three of our students will have the honor of representing the academy at one of the most special events on the European chess calendar: “Vigevano Per Gli Scacchi 2026.”

🌍 A Unique International Stage

The tournament will be held in the historic city of Vigevano, a hub that has established itself as a meeting point for the international chess community.

In its last edition, the event brought together over 260 players from 14 federations, making it a true global celebration of chess.

But Vigevano is much more than a competition: it is culture, camaraderie, and shared passion in a one-of-a-kind environment.

🧭 Three Representatives, One Identity

On this expedition, three ChessAP students will proudly wear the academy’s colors:

  • Carmen Illueca, competing in the U-20 category, facing young international talents

  • Héctor Illueca, participating in the open section (Over 20)

  • Sara, who has also been selected as an official representative of ChessAP at this international tournament

Each of them was chosen for their commitment, progress, and potential, values that define the spirit of our academy.

🏰 Chess in an Unmatched Setting

The event takes place in iconic venues such as the Castello Sforzesco of Vigevano, where chess takes center stage for three days.

Highlights include:

  • International tournaments (Open and U-20)

  • Live streaming with content creators

  • Cultural activities and conferences

  • Charitable initiatives such as Chess4Charity

  • An atmosphere that combines competition and experience

All of this makes Vigevano an event where chess is lived both on and off the board.

🚀 More Than Competing: Growing

For our three representatives, this experience means:

  • Facing international rivals

  • Stepping out of their competitive comfort zone

  • Representing ChessAP at a high-level event

  • Experiencing chess as a complete journey

At ChessAP, we understand that true progress is measured not only in results but in experiences that transform the player.
